Marble City Opera Seeks Managing Director
Part-Time Position | Knoxville, TN Area
Marble City Opera is seeking a passionate and organized Managing Director to join our leadership team and help guide the organization into its next chapter of artistic and organizational growth.
Marble City Opera is known for producing innovative, immersive opera experiences in unexpected spaces while supporting emerging and professional artists and engaging our East TN community through performances and outreach.
The Managing Director will report to the board of directors and work closely with the Artistic Director to support the organization’s strategic vision, strengthen fundraising efforts, and oversee day to day administrative operations.
Starting Salary: $20,000 (part-time position with a flexible schedule and remote work.)
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee fundraising initiatives including individual giving, sponsorships, and grants

Research and write grant proposals and manage grant reporting

Cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, and community partners

Manage organizational operations including budgets, reporting, and compliance

Work with the Board of Directors to support governance and strategic planning

Represent Marble City Opera in the community and with local partners

Organize and implement outreach performances and concerts, such as Pint Sized Opera
-
Lead and oversee Marketing and Media Efforts

Lead and oversee Box Office

Lead daily operations
Qualifications:
-
Must be based in or near the greater Knoxville, TN area

Experience working in the nonprofit sector preferred

Grant writing and fundraising experience strongly preferred

Development or donor relations experience a plus

Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills

Passion for the arts and community engagement
