To our friends and supporters,

I hope this note finds you well amidst the uncertainty and upheaval of Covid-19 and society’s efforts to cope with it. It’s at times like this that we need the arts most, to connect us with each other and with our humanity.

In light of current events and after careful consideration, Marble City Opera’s production of I Pagliacci will be postponed from our original May 29th and 30th dates to August 13, 14, & 15th at the Tennessee Amphitheater. Thank you to those of you who have already purchased your tickets. Please let us know if you would like us to transfer those tickets to a performance in August. We understand that many of you are faced with personal uncertainties, but if you are able we would request that you consider your previous ticket as a donation to Marble City Opera. However, if you would like a refund we will absolutely provide one for you.

Tickets will be limited for our production in August and will go on sale in July. We will be working within the guidelines determined by the local, regional, and national health officials and government entities to continue to monitor the situation and make decisions accordingly. Everyone’s health and safety are of the utmost importance, and we will be implementing procedures to keep you, our patrons, and our artists safe.

While we will not be able to meet you in person this month, on May 29that 7:30pm we will be hosting a watch party of our recent successful world premiere production of Shadowlight by Larry Delinger and Emily Anderson, followed by a live interview with the composer.

Along with our current Monday Blog, and daily musical interludes, we will be hosting a series of Behind the Scenes Q & A sessions with artists who have worked with MCO, as well as a “Pint Sized Opera from our living room to yours” in June.

Thank you for your continued loyalty during this unprecedented time. We look forward to the future when we will be reunited again to listen to, watch, and feel the power of music live and in person, even if not up close!

We want to thank you for your generous support of our company. You have helped provide the resources, human and financial, to deliver great performances, now and into the future. We look forward to announcing our upcoming season as soon as possible!

With sincere appreciation,

Kathryn Frady
