Vic Chavez

Victor Chávez, Jr.  is currently Associate Professor of Clarinet at the University of Tennessee and holds tenured orchestral positions as third/bass clarinetist with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra as well as serving as principal clarinetist of the Johnson City Symphony, the Symphony of the Mountains, and the Tri-Cities Opera Company in Binghamton, NY.  Additionally, he is a faculty member at the California Central Coast Orchestra & Jazz Academy and Round Top Music Festivals. Dr. Chavez was awarded the Artistic Directorship to host the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest 2019 at the University of Tennessee with over 1,700 clarinetists and guests in attendance.  Additionally, Dr. Chavez and his Artistic Leadership Team set a new Guinness World Record for the Largest Clarinet Choir ever assembled consisting of 367 people.
